I found this photo especially interesting because of its use of contrast and repetition. The pigeons create a sense of repetition and unity within the composition, but also echo the strong lights and darks throughout the photo; for example, the jacket of the woman covered in pigeons contrasts the light facade of the building in the background and allows her to stand out from the background. the repetition of clothing in the window and on the bodies of the people also creates a sense of repetition. Silverstone's use of the diagonal of the sidewalk also adds a dynamic component to the photo.
